While most people think of Apple Mac computers as being incredibly durable and to some extent crash proof, the truth is Macs using OS X are just as likely to experience a logic crash and resultant data loss, as are Windows and Linux base PCs.
And when your data is locked away in a frozen hard drive it doesn’t much matter who made the PC. What does matter though is which program you can use recover Mac data. Many companies sell slightly tweaked Windows recovery programs for the purpose of Mac data recovery. These are worthless for the task. Disk Doctors produces a Mac recovery program that was built from the ground up to retrieve lost data on Apple OS X based Macs. The program is so targeted to Apple Macs that it even uses a tree finder interface just like the Mac system of browsing and searching for files. Only when using the Disk Doctors Mac Utility you are able to find lost files and preview them before restoration. The program will find and restore Mac partitions and will also locate deleted files on Apple Mac peripherals such as USB flash drives. Read the rest of this entry »
I have a web based email address on Yahoo and every so often a letter arrives after one sent to me later from the same source. If I am forgetful and don’t remember the note that arrived earlier then I will delete the email. Many times the email had important information in it and I needed to use a program to recover deleted emails.
Email recovery takes two very different forms. When dealing with web based email addresses such as that found on Yahoo or Hotmail then you must use a conventional data recovery tool that scans your entire hard disk for recently deleted content. When using a client type email inbox such as Microsoft Outlook one must have a targeted program built expressly to recover .pst files. The best of these is the Outlook repair tool from Disk doctors. The Disk Doctors Outlook Repair tool will seek out the structure of Outlook .pst files and reconstruct the corrupted damaged or accidentally deleted data. Whether you use web-based email or a local client to server system such as Microsoft Outlook disk doctors has a program to recover your emails. Read the rest of this entry »
Do you ever use those little plug-in flash drives? The optical drive on my laptop is broken and my netbook doesn’t have an optical drive so I write everything to these little SSDs. The only trouble is that USB flash drives are susceptible to losing data. They don’t lose it completely per se but somehow the file recognition data gets removed and as far as my computer is concerned the file is gone forever. In reality the contents of that file are right where I left them and so long as I do not overwrite the space the file resides in they can always be recovered. But to do so you will need Disk Doctors Media Recovery Software. This amazingly user-friendly suite of software can be used for photo recovery such as that needed for memory card recovery.
The program is so versatile you can even use it to find and restore MP3 files on your iPod. Of course I use the program for USB data recovery for as I mentioned I always have a pocketful of usb flash drives. Read the rest of this entry »

Perhaps we had wanted to save the file, or perhaps we wanted thought we wanted to delete the file and then remembered we still had need for it. Regardless of how it happened the file has been removed and now we want it back. We have deleted it and now we want to “undelete” it. Many times the loss of a file is even more accidental. Often during the process of uninstalling a program we discover many needed application files were attached to the folder we deleted. Once again we have a dire need to recover deleted files.
The need is easily met with assistance from Disk Doctors Undelete. Disk Doctors Undelete is the most powerful yet user-friendly program ever created for the purpose of recovering lost or deleted files. Read the rest of this entry »
